National Operations Manager
Position Overview

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a dynamic, logistics-heavy, high-performance environment. You'll lead day-to-day operations across our Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane studios, bringing structure, energy, and excellence to our frontline teams.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and inspire a distributed team of florists, assistants, drivers, & customer care staff
- Support and guide local Team Leads in each studio
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure alignment and support
Talent & Culture
- Attract, select, and retain first-class talent across all operational roles
- Cultivate a high-performance culture grounded in engagement, accountability, and joy at work
- Coach and develop individuals to continuously improve in their roles
Operational Excellence
- Drive consistency and excellence in daily production quality and delivery standards
- Implement and refine repeatable, scalable processes across all locations
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to execute the company's operational strategy
Efficiency & Cost Management
- Identify and unlock opportunities for efficiency gains in production workflows
- Monitor key metrics including production speed, error rates, and delivery timeliness
- Improve the unit economics of our operations by getting the best from every hour and every team member
Training & Communication
- Ensure all team members are properly trained, confident, and set up to succeed
- Establish clear, transparent, and frequent communication channels between teams and HQ
- Lead with clarity—setting expectations and following through with action

Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in a senior operations or multi-site leadership role (retail, logistics, hospitality, or creative industries preferred)
- A strong track record of managing teams of 15+ in fast-paced environments
- Demonstrated ability to build efficient processes and lead cultural transformation
- Experience hiring, training, and retaining frontline or creative staff
- Melbourne-based or willing to relocate; must be willing to travel regularly to Sydney and Brisbane

Full Time Floral Designer (Experienced Required)
Position Overview
Fig & Bloom is seeking a Full Time Floral Designer, a skilled technician capable of designing superb floral arrangements efficiently and without direct instruction or supervision. With practical hands-on experience, an Experienced Floral Designer demonstrates progress toward sharing their knowledge with junior staff. A role model for our high standards of excellence. The successful applicant may be considered for a full time role if the position is available.
The successful candidate must have a keen eye for detail and eagerness to understand the technical strengths & weaknesses of their fellow team members. With a strong understanding of the team’s goals & objectives, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in achieving overall success as a team.

Retail Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Retail & Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of the Camperdown location, ensuring efficiency and adherence to Fig & Bloom’s high standards.
- Manage stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining an organised and visually appealing workspace.
- Implement and optimise retail processes to improve efficiency and service quality.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead and support a team of florists, drivers, and contractors to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff, fostering a positive and high-performance culture.
- Manage staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage during peak periods and events.
Customer Experience & Sales
- Ensure outstanding customer service, both in-person and for online orders, resolving any issues promptly.
- Assist customers with product selection, offering expert guidance on floral arrangements and gifting.
- Monitor and drive sales performance, upselling complementary products such as greeting cards, candles, and gifts.
Quality Control & Brand Standards
- Maintain Fig & Bloom’s high presentation and quality standards for all floral arrangements and products.
- Ensure all customer orders are accurately prepared and delivered on time.
- Uphold workplace health and safety policies, ensuring a clean and safe environment for staff and customers.
Job Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in retail, hospitality, or a similar leadership role (experience in floristry or luxury gifting is a plus).
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Strong customer service and sales skills, with a passion for delivering an exceptional experience.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak gifting seasons.
- Experience handling stock management and retail operations.
Qualifications
- No formal qualifications required, but a background in retail management, floristry, or hospitality is desirable.
- Valid driver’s licence is preferred.
