Recently, we had the honour and fun of working with our client Sweet & Chilli. They're a specialist drinks agency, offering a unique range of tailored services to the events, drinks and hospitality industries. Working with them on their latest dinner party, we honoured their motto of “a drink is not just a drink, it's an experience.”
Flowers too are an experience, and so the inspiration flowed as easily as the cocktails and the final result was flawless for the guests.
Let us set the scene. The surroundings at this particular event, needed to be as fun as the festivities. At the heart of this magical maelstrom were a spectrum of cocktails, which our decadent arrangements framed perfectly.
A key component of the drinks, was the Tanqueray Sevilla Distilled Gin, which boasts beautiful ingredient illustrations on the bottles. We took these illustrations as a mood board and visually represented them using floral elements in our designs.
“Flor de Sevilla” by Tanqueray
Spotlight centre amidst the delicious cocktails was an equal feast for the eyes. Blooming out of a contemporary tall vase, was a statuesque explosion of greens, oranges and pretty whites.
Featuring a hand-selected array of fruit and vegetables including coriander and navel oranges, finished with the sharp, sweet scent of fresh liquorice sticks.
The shorter vase boasted a cascade of greenery, punctuated with bright little Cumquats and framed with pretty white Queen Anne's Lace. It was stunning from any angle. The small fragrant Jonquils replicated the orange blossom from the gin beautifully, and the whole look was finished with soft Viburnum and Cypress.
To finish the triptych of floral embellishments, we created the charming rustic look of a farmer's market, with decorations based around wooden crates. Small, hand-tied arrangements of orange clusters and liquorice peeked and draped over the stacked wooden crates, establishing fun interaction points for guests.
Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla is a unique distilled gin made with Sevilla orange essences and other fine botanicals. The result is a perfect balance of the uniquely bittersweet taste of Seville oranges balanced with the complexity of Tanqueray London Dry Gin.
All three elements worked in harmony and considered every touch point of the guest's sensory experience, and as they entered the room, the sweet aroma of the Jonquils was contrasted by the sharp sour scent of freshly-cut oranges. This combination heightens both the impact of the floral décor, but also the taste of the cocktails.
