Founder & Creative Director
Kellie Brown is the founder and creative director of Fig & Bloom, Australia's original premium flower delivery service. She founded the studio in Melbourne in 2015 and introduced colour blocking to Australian flower delivery in its first year, publishing the guide to the look in 2016. Kellie trained in fashion design at RMIT and spent a decade with brands including Witchery, Decjuba, Wonderbra and Zoo York before studying at FlowerSchool New York under Shane Connolly, floral designer for the wedding of Prince William and Catherine. The studio's stage and green-room work includes commissions for Elton John, Barack Obama and Lady Gaga. Fig & Bloom has made more than 500,000 deliveries, holds a 4.8-star rating from 2,500+ reviews on ProductReview.com.au, and has been covered by 7News, Body+Soul, Frankie, WHO, New Idea, Home Beautiful and Sitchu.

Kellie reveals that boiling water revives hydrangeas by clearing stem blockages. “Hydrangeas are drama queens,” she says. For drooping heads, submerge them in cool water for 20-30 minutes. This dual approach ensures your blooms stay fresh and lively.

Keep the vase away from the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit releases ethylene, which ages cut flowers fast. Your bananas are not your bouquet's friend.

We brought colour blocking into Australian flower delivery in our first year, and we've watched it spread ever since. We take the imitation as a compliment. The original is still designed in our studio.
