Christmas Flowers: The Order-By Calendar

Fig & Bloom

Guide

Practical guidance from the Fig & Bloom studio on ordering, delivery and choosing flowers that still feel designed when they arrive.

The Christmas close is the same in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Flowers belong in a room that still has people in it: the office before it empties, or the house for the meal.

Last delivery before Christmas is Thursday 24 December 2026. Order before 1pm local time that day for same-day hand-delivery in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. We're closed on 25 and 26 December. Get the date right and the flowers can stand in for you. Get it wrong and a good design arrives at a locked door.

When is the last day you deliver before Christmas?

Last delivery is Thursday 24 December. We're closed on 25 and 26 December only. That close is the same in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. There isn't a separate Christmas date for each city. Outside those metro areas, orders travel by StarTrack, so check checkout for the dates it offers.

If the flowers are for Christmas Day, they have to already be at the house on the 24th. If they are for an office, send them on a day people are still at their desks. A locked office is not a recipient.

What is the job of the flowers?

To be in the right room while someone is there. For the house, the van stops at the home and the flowers wait for the meal. For the office, the van stops at the workplace and someone who works there carries them from the door to the desk.

We can't find one person in a lobby, and we can't promise a clock time. The address has to be a place where a person you trust will take the flowers the last few metres.

Should they go to the office or the house?

Send them to the room where the person will actually be. An office send belongs on a working day, before the building shuts. A Christmas Day send belongs at the house.

If the office will already be shut, choose an earlier day, or choose the house.

Which design should you send once the date is set?

Choose from the Christmas Bouquet collection, not a design made for another season. Christmas Collection is the hand-tied bunch in red and white: red roses, hypericum, hydrangea, Christmas bush and cypress, in a white wrap with a black ribbon. Regular is $124, and the larger sizes go up from there. Christmas bush goes in when the market has it. Stems move with the season, and the shape of the bunch stays.

The wider set is the Christmas collection. For a long table or an event, use Christmas Event Flowers. What the December stems actually are, including Christmas bush, is in Christmas bush and the December stems.

What should the card say?

The card is printed from what you type at checkout. Name the person and the room you picture them in. "For the table on the day" is better than a generic season's greeting, because it says you knew where it would sit.

For a colleague, name the year of work rather than the holiday. For family, one specific memory beats a long wish. The shapes in what to write on a flower card still apply in December.

What should you do next?

Pick the room first. The close is already set. Then choose the design and place the order.

  1. Decide whether this is the office, while people are still there, or the house for the meal.
  2. If the meal is on Christmas Day, have the flowers at the house by Thursday 24 December, the last delivery day. If the office will be empty, send them earlier, or send them home.
  3. Order Christmas Collection, or choose another piece from the Christmas collection. Use Christmas Event Flowers if you need a centrepiece.
  4. Type a card that names the person and the room.
  5. Order before 1pm local time, Monday to Saturday, for same-day hand-delivery in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. We don't deliver on Sundays. If you want the flowers for a Sunday, choose Saturday.
