Prague Vase Arrangement

Prague is romance without the shortcut, arranged in a vase and ready to sit where it lands.

Deep crimson against blush pink, which is a harder pairing than it looks. Put them too close together and you get Valentine's Day. Give them enough space and enough contrast in texture and you get something closer to velvet.

Every stem in it is load-bearing. Snapdragon gives the arrangement height and a spire, so it never settles into a dome. Ranunculus brings the fine layers that catch light where the crimson swallows it. Lisianthus softens the joins. Protea is the piece most florists would leave out, and it is the reason the whole thing has a spine. Magnolia foliage keeps the base dark rather than green.
