Missing a birthday or a current address need not stall a thoughtful gift. A private link lets someone share the details and preferences you need.
You are ready to send something, then realise you do not have their current address. Or you know their birthday is around this time, but cannot remember the date. Asking is straightforward in theory. In practice, you may find yourself delaying the gift while you decide how to put it.
We built a private-request flow so you can ask for useful details together, in the context of giving someone something they will enjoy. You choose what is missing, share a link, and let them answer.

An invitation to help you get it right
From a person’s page in Reminders, you can ask for gift picks, check their address or confirm their birthday. The request lets you include any combination of those details. You do not need to send three separate messages.
The suggested sharing message is simple: “I’m keeping the important details somewhere I’ll remember them. Could you add yours here?”
It does not announce that you have forgotten a birthday or lost an address. It gives the person a useful reason to supply or update the information. You send the link yourself, so you can add the greeting or explanation that fits your relationship. Fig & Bloom does not contact them on your behalf through this sharing step.
A current address is a small detail until you need flowers to arrive there.

What they see
The recipient opens a page explaining that you want their next gift to be a sure thing. If you have asked for gift picks, they can browse and heart things they would genuinely love. If you have asked for details, they can add a delivery address or their birthday.
The birthday fields ask for the day and month, rather than requiring a birth year. The address form includes the delivery details you need, with optional fields where appropriate. They can answer some or all of the request.
Crucially, no account is needed to answer. They do not have to sign up before helping you. Their answers are shared only with the person who sent the private link, and they can come back to that link to change their gift picks.

Ask once, for what you need
Choose picks, address or birthday, or combine them. You share the private link yourself.
- Choose what you need to ask
- Combine picks, address and birthday
- They can answer the private request
How to make the request
- Open the person’s page in Reminders and look under Make it personal.
- Choose Ask for their picks, Check their address or Confirm their birthday.
- Select the information you want to request, then review the sharing message.
- Share the private link directly with that person through the channel you normally use.
Keep the link private. It belongs in a personal conversation, rather than a public post or a group thread where other people could open it.
Less reliance on your memory
One customer invited to try the features described the appeal as being able to give people exactly what they like, without relying on her memory. That is the wider reason for keeping details with the person: the next gift should not begin with another search through old messages.
This request cannot tell you whether someone will prefer it to an ordinary question. If a quick “what’s your new address?” suits the relationship, ask it. The link is useful when you want to gather a few details at once, or give someone room to choose and answer in their own time.
It turns an incomplete set of details into an invitation to help you give well.
Open Reminders and check a person’s details. Once their birthday is saved, an occasion reminder can help you act on it.
